Add the shops and services along the Mattis corridor and most errands stay inside a five-minute loop.

Food & going out

The Original Pancake House and El Toro Bravo are five minutes away on West Springfield, Monical's Pizza is just up Mattis, and Country Fair has Starbucks, Jimmy John's, and Dunkin for the morning run. For a night out, downtown Champaign's restaurant and bar district is about seven minutes east.

Parks & outdoors

Centennial Park starts about a half-mile west on John Street — 69 acres with the Sholem Aquatic Center, Lindsay Tennis Center, the John Street pickleball complex, and the city's sledding hill. Hessel Park, with its splash pad and playground, is about five minutes by car, and they're two of more than 60 parks the Champaign Park District runs citywide.

Work & school

The location works for a lot of commutes: Carle and OSF healthcare workers, University of Illinois staff and graduate students, Parkland students, and anyone driving out of town on I-57 or I-74. Families are served by Champaign Unit 4 Schools, which assigns elementary schools through its schools-of-choice registration process; Centennial High School is a short walk away, just past Centennial Park.
